About
My name is Shehnaz Khan and I am ethnically Pakistani, nationally American and religiously Muslim.
Once the girl simply trying to create an identity for herself, I’ve been bitten by the social justice bug and now identify myself as an American female Muslim activist. Still trying to balance deen and dunya as well as fashion and faith, I’m a grad student at New York University with a flair for style and a desire to empower! My mediums are Islam, fashion, and activism.
While working at Turning Point for Women and Families as the Youth Leader, I have held workshops and led youth discussions on Islamophobia and bullying at various public high schools. Additionally, I have also made presentations and conducted workshops on self-esteem and body image at schools. I have also given interviews for Al-Hurra TV, NY1, Temoignage Chretien and CUNY School of Journalism.
On August 10th, 2011, I received my Citation of Honor from Queensborough President, Helen M. Marshall for my community service.
In this life-changing process to help empower others, I learned how to empower myself. I now hope to use my experience as a stepping stone to empower others as well as for what’s to come: my own organization for American Muslim youth. For details, stay tuned!

Congratulations dear, keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Looking forward to doing a review for you
